Virgil van Dijk completely masked Antonio Rudiger when the Chelsea man tried to confront him – and that had liverpool his teammate Fabinho laughing.
Rudiger challenged Naby Keita’s arm grabbing Mason Mount in the face during the first half and he was quick to get in front of referee Stuart Attwell.
Van Dijk came running to defend Keita and that annoyed Rudiger, who kept trying to fend off the Dutchman.
Whenever Rudiger pushed van Dijk for a reaction, he ignored it and kept his eyes on Attwell.
Rudiger then turned to Fabinho who had a huge grin on his face.
There’s a reason why van Dijk is one of the quietest defenders in world football.
Fans reacted to the incident and they think it might be one of the funniest moments of the game.
One commented: “Awkward for him. The man was trying so hard to react and didn’t get it.”
Another said: “You can tell it hurt his masculinity because he started trying it with Fabinho afterwards and then laughed at him.”
A third added: “Rudiger wants to relax with the big boys VVD gave him nothing.”
While someone put: “Looks like VVD doesn’t know who Rudiger is, in tears.”
The match ended 0-0 after 120 minutes of action and was settled 11-10 in the penalty shootout in favor of Liverpool.
It’s the fifth major trophy that Jurgen Klopp has won with Liverpool since taking over in 2015.
Asked about the result, he told the club’s official website: “Our fans were obviously quite happy with everything tonight, the atmosphere was exceptional, I really loved it.
“And after the game, it was nice to celebrate with people after a long time without having any reason to celebrate something, or no opportunity to celebrate something. So, I’m really happy with everything.”
