Maruti XL6 Alpha 2022 variant in a presentation video

Maruti Suzuki has just launched the 2022 XL6 in the Indian market. It is offered in three variants. There is Zeta, Alpha and Alpha+. Pricing of the XL6 now starts at Rs. 11.29 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 14.55 lakhs ex-showroom. Here we have a detailed walkthrough video of the Alpha MT variant.

The video is uploaded to YouTube by Drive Expo. We can see that the grille has been heavily updated. but the quad-LED headlights remain the same. There are LED fog lights and a fake skid plate. There is also a camera mounted just below the Suzuki logo. This camera is for the 360 degree parking camera which helps the driver to park the car in tight spaces. You can also see the camera under the exterior mirrors and on the tailgate.

On the side profile there are new 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels. These made a big difference in terms of the stance of the minivan. The tire size is 195/60 R16. Previous 15-inch units felt undersized for the XL6. The B and C pillars are now finished in gloss black. Braking duties are provided by front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. There are roof rails and chrome door handles. At the rear, the taillight design is the same but now they come with a smoked effect. There is a chrome trim and a shiny plastic insert that connects the two taillights.

Then the host climbs inside. There are no significant changes on this. It gets the same cabin as the Ertiga but it’s finished in an all-black theme while Ertiga gets a two-tone black and tan theme. The multifunction steering wheel is a flat-bottomed unit. There’s cruise control, automatic climate control, multi-information display, push-button engine start/stop, keyless entry and more.

The infotainment is still 7 inches but now runs a new user interface that we saw on the Baleno. However, if you get the Zeta variant, you get the older 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system. Both systems come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

There are certain gears that the Alpha variant gets over the Zeta variant. For example, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leatherette seats, voice assistant, IR-blocking front windscreen, UV-blocking side windows and rear quarter windows, automatic headlights and synchronized automatic folding function keys for the ORVMS.

The Alpha variant lacks gloss black exterior mirrors, rear door spoiler, tire monitoring system and ventilated front seats. To get these features, you will need to upgrade to Alpha+. Additionally, you also cannot get the two-tone paint option on the Zeta and Alpha variants.

The XL6 comes with a new 1.5-litre DualJet petrol engine with a Smart Hybrid system. It produces 102 hp of maximum power and 136 Nm of maximum torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The main rivals of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 are Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
