Lily Collins even admits she mispronounced “Emily in Paris”

Netflix’s Emily in Paris was all anyone could talk about when the wellness romantic comedy hit the streaming platform in October. Of amazing fashion at the end of the cliffhanger and his stereotypical French clichés, the Darren Star series created a huge buzz.

But more recently, the show hit the headlines again when it emerged that we had all mispronounced “Emily in Paris” for as long as she was on Netflix. “Friendly reminder Emily in Paris is supposed to be pronounced with a French accent so ‘Emily’ and ‘Paris’ rhyme,” Netflix tweeted on Nov. 11, before adding, “I said what I said.”

And it looks like we’re not the only ones who got it wrong, as Lily Collins just admitted she said it wrong too.

Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the actor revealed, “So here’s the thing, when we were filming it in Paris, we heard people refer to it more often. Right? Because we are in Paris and the accent.

“I was like, ‘Oh yeah, that rhymes. That’s cute.’ I literally forgot about it, I came home. It was never a big deal, then I felt like I was one with all the other people in the world who have it. discovered the same day.

She continued, “I was like, ‘Did I say it wrong?’ We all said ‘Emily in Paris.’ I was like, ‘Oh my god, I fell for this.’ So yeah I’m Emily and I was even saying it wrong. So go figure it out. I feel like this is actually something Emily herself would be like, ‘I guess I was part of the joke. . ‘”

I mean, if Lily doesn’t even say it right …
