EDINBURGH, UNITED KINGDOM, June 22, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Alpha data, a global leader in FPGA-based acceleration, is pleased to announce the first delivery of the system on a module (SoM) ADM-VPX3-9Z5 product to customers. This rugged, military specification product is designed for harsh environments, including high altitude operations.

Defense-Grade ADM-VPX3-9Z5 was produced by Alpha Data in conjunction with Xilinx and Texas Instruments, and features Mil-temp (-55C to + 125C) range components throughout, for use in harsh environments.

The ADM-VPX3-9Z5 offers high performance in demanding environments and is specially designed to speed up digital signal processing, making it particularly useful for remote sensing and Earth observation.

Built by Alpha Data, the ADM-VPX3-9Z5 is an SOSA-aligned OpenVPX standard system on module (SoM) that uses the Xilinx Defense-Grade Zynq UltraScale + XQZU19EG FPGA. The board includes Texas Instruments Mil-temp enhanced plastic components for system monitoring, power and temperature sensing. The ADM-VPX3-9Z5 is also compatible with Low Voltage Mode Auxiliary I / O (LVAUX) for Single Event Effects Mitigation (SEE).

The ADM-VPX3-9Z5 provides a rugged module in a 3U-VPX form factor, which can be used for everything from early laboratory development to testing, qualification and deployment in harsh environments.

“We built the Defense-Grade ADM-VPX3-9Z5 as a standard product designed to military specifications and suitable for all stages of a project, from development to deployment,” said David Miller, general manager of Alpha Data. . “The 9Z5’s strict specifications mean the product is inherently tough and rugged, making it the ideal choice for processing high altitude sensors and offering the potential for NewSpace applications. “

The ADM-VPX3-9Z5 is part of Alpha Data’s constantly evolving product line for “extreme environments” – which also includes the new Space Development Kit ADA-SDEV-KIT3. This builds on the company’s strong technical heritage and experience in providing products to aerospace leaders and research organizations. Alpha Data engineers support customers looking to quickly leverage the best of out-of-the-box reconfigurable computing.
