Target and Ulta Beauty team up to launch a new beauty shopping experience

Target and Ulta Beauty on Tuesday announced a new strategic partnership that aims to “transform the beauty landscape.” This includes an initiative to roll out a new “shop-in-shop” concept in which smaller Ulta Beauty stores will open in existing Target locations.

“The sustainability strategy we have in place has made Target a premier retail destination. The simplicity and convenience of our stores and fulfillment services provide broad reach and relevance to the select brands our customers love,” said Target President and CEO Brian Cornell, in a PR Newswire statement. “Partnering with Ulta Beauty, a company that shares our deep focus on customers, we have been able to expand our growing beauty business with exciting new brands, immersive experience and loyalty benefits to transform the way our customers shop for all their beauty needs. ”

CNBC explains that these Ulta Beauty mini-stores will be approximately 1,000 square feet in size and staffed by Ulta-trained Target employees. Customers will be able to browse over 40 beauty brands that offer the latest in the skincare and makeup industry.

Shop-in-shops will even allow customers to explore different beauty products and looks via digital discovery tools such as GLAMLab, a virtual try-on technology that allows users to test beauty products safely and hands-on. free.

This Target-Ulta Beauty partnership also extends to Target’s e-commerce space. Those who buy Ulta Beauty at Target.com will receive benefits such as same-day fulfillment services as well as same-day shipments.

These Ulta Beauty “shop-in-shops” will debut in more than 100 targets nationwide starting in 2021.
