Team Alpha and Rohit Jain to represent India at World Esports League | Race News

NEW DELHI: Team Alpha and Rohit Jain have sealed their places for the upcoming 2021 World Esports League World Finals scheduled for December 16-19 at Gwangju Esports Arena in Korea.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, India’s playoffs took place virtually last week. The 2021 World Esports League is hosted by Technoblood Inc. and organized by the WSL Organizing Committee in association with the International Esports Federation.
A four-member Alpha team, made up of engineering and management students, including Captain Ashmit Raj, Shashank Jain, Sravanth Saranu and Harschit Jain (substitute), emerged victorious from the Brawl Stars event in the qualifiers of the India, which saw top-notch competition between the top eight teams.
“I have been playing Brawl Stars since its release and it is now an honor for me to lead the Indian team when it first appeared in the World Finals of this game. I would like to thank the Federation (ESFI), who have been very supportive and professional. We will do our best to bring glory to the country in the final, ”said Ashmit, the Alpha team skipper.
On the other hand, the qualifying event of the popular fighting game Tekken7 saw the participation of 35 top athletes from all over the country. However, Delhi-based Rohit Jain impressed with his skillful play and won top honors.
“The last two years have been very good for me. I had very good results in the last ESFI tournaments, but somehow representing India didn’t happen. “However, today all the hard work paid off and I’m ready for my international tournament debut. I can’t wait to make this opportunity even more special by winning the medal,” said Rohit.
The 2021 World Esports League Global Finals will offer a prize pool of $ 400,000 as the world’s best athletes are seen in action in games like Tekken7, Brawl Stars, PUBG and Eternal Return.
“This will be the first time that an Indian team will participate in Brawl Stars on the world stage. Rohit Jain has played regularly for the past two years and this year he finally managed to win the championship. We are also very excited about their debut and confident to leave their mark, ”said Mr. Lokesh Suji, Director of the Indian Esports Federation (ESFI) and Vice President of the Asian Esports Federation ( AESF).
