Petco today announced its partnership with DoorDash (NYSE: DASH) for same day delivery, this is the first time that the company has offered such a service. It is part of the pet supplies retailer’s newly redesigned digital experience as part of plans for an initial public offering.

The pet supply manager says there is no fee or registration required to get the delivery, but if you want it for free, there is a minimum order of $ 35.

Petco also unveiled a revamped website, which it says has been redesigned to focus on the health and well-being of pets, while emphasizing convenience for consumers. It has curbside pickup; same day delivery, one day or two days; and repeat the delivery.

Consumer demand for pet supplies has been high during the pandemic, and offsite services are a point of differentiation. It has proven to be a recession resistant industry. PackagedFacts analysts predict that online sales of pet products will reach 24% of total sales estimated at $ 78.5 billion this year and grow to 26.5% by 2024.

In the midst of the boom, Petco is seeks to become public with a reported valuation of $ 6 billion. DoorDash made its public debut on Wednesday and was greeted enthusiastically by investors as its stock climbed 80%.

Petco’s same-day delivery service will be delivered through DoorDash’s white-label platform called DoorDash Drive, which allows retailers to use their own websites, apps, and other channels to drive sales and then run them with DoorDash logistics service.
