Alpha Wolf + Cloudbreak has an innovative camping tent from Heimplanet

The Alpha Wolf and the Wolf + (Wolf Plus) have yet to go into production, but the California startup is already working on an overlanding version of its first all-electric small truck. Alpha Motor Corporation (AMC) worked with German outdoor specialist Heimplanet to create a bespoke Cloudbreak tent that fits perfectly into the truck bed.

“Cloudbreak is a design we’ve been working on for some time,” said Stefan Clauss, co-founder of Heimplanet. “For the collaboration with Alpha Motor Corporation, we have adapted the shape to fit the size of the vehicle while allowing two separate access points.”

The Heimplanet Cloudbreak Geodesic Tent is something out of a science fiction movie. It’s like a Rubix Cube (although it’s not a cube, obviously) that “opens up a world of new possibilities in outdoor adventure,” Alpha said, while creating “a new mobility-driven experience. on the function “.

Automakers and startups are now incorporating outdoor adventure gear into their new vehicle offerings. Mini recently launched the “World’s Greenest Motorhome Fleet” with model-specific roof tents and transport systems for the all-electric Cooper SE and Cooper SE Countryman Hybrid. Outdoor adventure companies are also benefiting from the craze, Truckhouse recently launched a carbon fiber reinforced motorhome platform for the Toyota Tacoma.

Meanwhile, the Cloudbreak tent at Aplha Wolf + offers dual access points with large entrances. And unlike regular tents, the Cloudbreak is made from a high-tenacity, weather-resistant, durable and tear-resistant polyester material to provide sufficient protection from the elements.

“Creativity is the main component of widespread upcycling, and it goes beyond technology,” AMC said. “We are passionate about finding sustainable mobility solutions that people can truly appreciate. ”

Specific details are scarce at this point, but there’s no denying that Heimplanet’s Cloudbreak tent is one of the most unique motorhomes we’ve seen in quite some time. Alpha launched the Wolf Short Wheelbase Electric Pickup last March, followed by the Extended Cab Wolf + in April.

The base Alpha Wolf will have a single front-mounted electric motor and a base price of $ 36,000, while the dual-motor version has all-wheel drive and enough gravity to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.2. seconds (6.2 seconds for the basic FWD version). Alpha claims a range of around 275 miles from an as yet unspecified battery.

A standard Wolf can tow up to 3,000 pounds (1360 kg), but the AWD version has an increased towing capacity of 6,274 pounds (3050 kg). Plus, Wolf + has two suicide rear doors for an added dose of style and substance. We don’t have a word yet on production and launch dates, but AMC is currently accepting advanced bookings for Wolf and Wolf +.
